In this, the first of a four-part series on what I believe about salvation, I state that our salvation is often perceived as a singular event — the moment when one’s sins are forgiven and a ticket to eternal life is punched. But salvation is more than a moment. It is an ongoing journey, a continuous process of growth, maturation, and transformation. It’s not merely about being saved FROM the consequences of our sins but being saved TO becoming more like Christ. It’s not an event – but a journey.
That singular event spawned a PROCESS that will continue until God calls us home to be with Him.
Our salvation consists of three elements:
- Justification (the initial event)
- Sanctification (the continuation of that event)
- Glorification (the conclusion of that event)
