In this podcast, Paul is setting the stage for what is to come in the next three chapters. When it comes to the Gospel, the playing field is leveled. There is no difference in status or position when it comes to what he is about to share. Greeks and non-Greeks (think Gentiles and Jews) alike need the Gospel, and as we shall see, God does not play favorites.
Paul saw himself as obligated to share the Gospel – but he wasn’t obligated to any of his supporters or “fans”. He was obligated to God – Who entrusted Paul with a message for all the world to hear. Jew, Gentile, Greek, non-Greek – it did not matter. All needed to hear what Paul had to say.
Paul felt a need and was driven to share what he knew about Jesus – and the redemption available to all. We have that same message today – how driven are we to be as transparent as Paul when it comes to the Gospel? I am not saying we should all become preachers… but through our lives, and our day-to-day interactions we should be saying what needs to be said. There is redemption available to all. There is hope for eternity.
