Episode 10 – Romans 1:19-23… God and Creation

March 3, 2026

I grew up in Alaska, surrounded by mountains and trees, oceans and rivers, lakes that reflected the sky like mirrors. I watched bears move through the brush, deer step quietly along the tree line, salmon fill the streams, and halibut rise from the depths. Ducks and geese traced their ancient paths across the water and the air. Everything around me existed in a kind of balance and harmony.

I didn’t know to call it God’s creation then. I wasn’t a Christian. But I knew—deep in my bones—that something bigger than I had a hand in it. The world felt alive, purposeful, ordered in ways I couldn’t explain but instinctively recognized.

This is Paul’s argument in this chapter, directed at people who did not have God’s Law physically written down for them. God was there. You can see Him in Nature. Moreover, His Laws are not difficult to understand. At the end of the day, Gentiles are without excuse.
