Paul has stated that God has a plan through which WE can be delivered. And this is God’s plan. As He is the judge, it is within His purview to grant any sentence He deems correct. There is a path forward from death to life. He can confer right-standing to whomever He desires. He alone can declare you innocent. You can walk into His courtroom guilty and then leave redeemed.

22 This righteousness is given through faith in[h] Jesus Christ to all who believe.

Righteousness, i.e., right standing, is GRANTED by the presiding judge to ANYONE who has faith in Jesus, the Christ.

We haven’t really addressed what Paul means by faith – not in detail, but that is coming. Just know – in God’s courtroom, Mankind is in an indefensible position. God has a way out.
